After last week's excellent performance Waveney failed miserably as a young Wroxham Reserves punished Waveney's poor start that was littered with mistakes.

Waveney went in to the game with players missing after several call-offs and had two lads helping out who were playing their first game at this level.

This said no excuses as they still had a strong experienced side but were outplayed by a Wroxham side that fully deserved all they got.

Wroxham took a first minute lead as Waveney made the worst possible start as High gave away a penalty which was confidently dispatched. Waveney recovered and did start to cause some problems for the Wroxham defence.

It was Wroxham who extended the lead as a mistake from High saw a simple chance put away after Waveney failed to clear.

With half-time approaching and planning a route back in to the game Waveney made their third error of the afternoon as Bergin misjudged the flight of the ball and it was 3-0 to the visitors.

Waveney were much better after the break as debutant Anthony Etheridge who came on at the break was working hard and Waveney were suddenly on top and creating chances.

With Burgess and Allen working extremely hard to get Waveney back in to the game the Wroxham keeper and his defenders made a couple of good clearances to deny Tacon and Shepherd when they looked certain to score.

A nasty head injury to Etheridge after a clash of heads with the keeper saw the game stop for treatment but after being bandaged up he was back on the pitch.

Wroxham added their fourth goal after a bout of Waveney pressure with a breakaway goal and a smart finish.

Wroxham comfortably saw the remainder of the game out for a well-deserved win.

Waveney has a chance to put things right as they travel to St Andrews up next as they try to stop sliding any further down the table.
