Acle United Ladies booked their place in the final of the Norfolk Women's Cup after a narrow 2-1 victory against King's Lynn Town.

It will be Acle's third County Cup final, this time against Wymondham Town at the FDC in Norwich on Friday, April 27.

The early stages of the game were exclusively played in the King's Lynn half and Bullard saw an effort cleared off the line after good play from Kindred and Holden. Two corners in quick succession from Acle were comfortably dealt with by the hosts.

A rare Lynn attack was broken up by Mungham-Gray 10 yards in the Acle half as the visitors were able to play a high line. At the other end Bullard squandered a chance to put Acle ahead, shooting straight at the keeper after receiving a long ball from Todd.

Despite having the majority of possession and territory, it was the hosts who took the lead in the 24th minute. A free-kick was half-cleared by the Acle defence and a deflected cross towards the back post fell to a Lynn player who finished well.

Acle continued to push forward and Holden was fouled 25 yards outside of the penalty-area, but Larkins' free-kick cleared the cross-bar, before minutes later, Todd easily beat her marker and sent in a low cross, which Bullard put over the bar from close range.

Both Pasque and Flatt went close with efforts just past the post, but a deserved equaliser came three minutes before half-time. Larkins sent a ball over the top of a static Lynn defence and Todd beat the home keeper to the ball and steer it into an empty net, to send the sides in level at the break.

The second half started similarly to the first with the visitors exerting the early pressure. Bullard was just unable to get on the end of Holden's cross, then Holden saw her shot clear the bar after picking up a through ball.

As the half went on, the game became a midfield battle with both sides putting in some meaty challenges and both keepers being rarely tested.

However, on 63 minutes, Acle took the lead. Pasque, picking up possession in midfield, sent a defence splitting ball to Holden, who from just inside the penalty area fired a shot across the keeper into the far corner.

It was almost 3-1 just a few minutes later, when a Lynn defender sliced a clearance just past her own post.

As the game reached its final stages play became very scrappy, King's Lynn chasing the game and Acle happy to shut the door on their attacks and neither side creating any real chances. In the final minute of normal time, Holden pressured the home keeper and the clearance rebounded off Holden just wide of the post.

With eight minutes of added time played, only a goalline clearance from Larkins prevented Lynn from an equaliser after a low ball to the far post saw a Lynn striker round Fullbrook in the Acle goal and shoot goalward.
