Flying start for new Yarmouth Ladies team

Great Yarmouth Town Ladies have made a fantastic start in their first season.

They are top of Division One of the Norwich Women's and Girls' Football League and unbeaten in their first three games.

This Sunday sees the team at home to Bungay with the match kicking off at 1.30pm on the Wellesley. The ladies are the first females to play in front of the world's oldest wooden grandstand in 119 years of the club's existence.

Their opponents will provide stern opposition as they recorded a 5-0 victory in the last round of the Ladies' FA Cup. Demand for places to play in the team have far exceeded expectations and now sees the club looking to immediately form a second team to enter the league.

If you are interested in playing for the club please contact David Eastwood on 01493 669153, 07930 957457 or 07545-984411. The club has a series of social and fund-raising events planned in the next few months and possibly a European tour for 2011.
