LOWESTOFT & YARMOUTH 46, WISBECH 17: Lowestoft & Yarmouth did all they could to pull off a last-gasp title success in London 3NE – only to miss out by a single point.
They thrashed Wisbech 46-17 at Gunton Park in their final match, but needed leaders Basildon to lose at South Woodham Ferrers.
But when the news filtered through from Essex of the other result, it was that Basildon had also emphatically done their bit, by hammering their middle-of-the-table hosts 75-10.
Wisbech's defeat, coupled with 21-21 draw for Campion at Upminster, condemned them to relegation.
