Fakenham racecourse will hold a third and final inspection at 11.30am Friday morning ahead of today's National Hunt meeting.
Clerk of the course David Hunter admitted conditions at the north Norfolk circuit had improved following a previous 10am track inspection with snow starting to clear after an initial 7am early morning inspection.
'We're going to have a look at 11.30am and things have definitely improved,' he said. 'If we thought we weren't in with a chance we would have knocked things on the head now, so we're keeping our fingers crossed.'
A scheduled charity race to raise funds for the Countryside Alliance and forces' charity Help for Heroes will take place at midday with the full National Hunt racecard beginning from 1.35pm.
