Tomorrow's race meet at Fakenham has been abandoned.

The decision was made after a course inspection at 1pm today by members of the racecourse.

David Hunter, chief executive and clerk of the course said: 'At today's inspection it was apparent that we would not have raced today because after a cold Friday night there was still some frost in the ground.

'Tonight's forecast is for another cold night and then 70 – 80% chance of snow (2 – 4 cms) on Sunday morning between 7 and 10am.

'We would not have raced on Friday either because of snow so when we have both elements to face for tomorrow we had no choice but to call racing off.'
