Fakenham maintained their excellent start to the season with a hard-fought 45-31 win over Norwich Union.
Union started aggressively and their forwards battered a hole in the defence within the first five minutes for Craig Dunbar to open the scoring.
Fakenham responded with some running rugby to allow Jordi Walker to even the score up. The rest of the first half was well contested with scores being exchanged on both sides, Dunbar with his second and newcomer Oli Ward touched down for the hosts while Fakenham's tries were scored by Rory Singleton and Walker to bring the score to 19-21.
The second half saw Fakenham have the upper hand for the majority of the game, with Luke Taylor providing some excellent offloads to allow scores from the back three of Murray Tindall, Lloyd Marshall and Brett Stolworthy and a third for Walker.
Ben Bond-Webster scored twice for Union while Lloyd Davis (2), Graham Hunt got the conversions.
