The Linnets beat the weather, the traffic and Worksop tonight to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
The kick-off at a wet Sandy Lane was delayed until 8pm due to six Lynn players being held up on the M1. And Gary Setchell's men were even 1-0 down at the break until they hit top gear to power their way to an impressive victory.
The bad news had started earlier in the day when left-back Jordan Yong dropped tarmac on his toe at work and had to pull out through injury. That, and congestion on the motorway, saw a defensive resuffle with right-back Valter Fernandes starting his first league game, Ryan Fryatt dropping into centre-back alongside Phil Gulliver and Jason Lee moving out to replace Yong.
A cracking strike from James Cottingham gave Worksop the lead but Shane Tolley levelled matters early in the second half. Fryatt headed his team in front before substitute Rob Duffy bagged a late brace, including one from the penalty spot after Lawrence Gaughan had been sent off, to make it three goals and six points from his first two Lynn games.
