Holt travelled to Enfield looking for a fifth win on the road this season in London 2NE – but returned home with just bonus points after conceding a late try.

Having beaten their opponents at home earlier in the season by a narrow margin a tough challenge was expected.

Holt started brightly and pressurised the home side early on, forcing them deep into their own half and drawing first blood with a penalty from the boot of fly-half Iain Young.

Enfield hit back shortly afterwards with a well taken try following an attack against a poorly defended blindside.

Holt continued to get the lion's share of possession throughout the half but some poor decision making and execution prevented them from adding to their score. Enfield added two more tries to their tally through some determined running in the backs and well executed passing, despite having only visited Holt's 22 on three occasions, to make the half-time score 15-8.

An early penalty looked to have bought Holt back into the game, narrowing the deficit to only four points.

But hopes of a comeback were hit hard when the home side scored two tries in quick succession to put the score at 27-11. Although the result looked at this point to be a foregone conclusion Holt were determined to stay in the game. Holt's forwards upped their game and, using the scrum as their platform, started to make inroads into opposition territory.

Two tries from scrummages five metres from their opponents' line, the first touched down by scrum-half Ben Girling and the second a penalty try, saw Holt back in the game with the scoreline reading 27-23.

With a new found confidence Holt began to move the ball well through the backs, where centre partnership Josh Simmons and Tom Jackson impressed.

An interception try from Matt Jary Ryan, who ran 95 metres to score what looked to be the winning score, was converted and Holt were ahead by 30-27 with only three minutes of the game remaining.

All hope was eventually dashed however after Enfield were rewarded with a try following a bombardment of Holt's line in the eighth of the 12 extra minutes played at the end of normal time.

Enfield ran out winners in a game that Holt will feel should have yielded more than the two bonus points they received.
