Following on from a ladies county golf get-together at Royal Norwich in pouring rain, a short game practice session was held at Eaton on Sunday in glorious sunshine.
Twelve members of the county ladies' first and second team squads were able to benefit from Eaton professional Mark Allen's short game plan. It is hoped that by putting the ideas and techniques outlined into practice the players can add a psychological benefit to their match play as well as improving their own game. A good short game and positive thinking will be key elements in whether Norfolk can win what will undoubtedly be some closely contested matches this season.
While the first team captain Alex Cowie is hoping all her potential squad will be available come June, second team captain Sharon Black has strength and depth available. Sharon is optimistic that a number of youngsters will reduce their handicaps to single figures as the season progresses. Developing these players alongside some experienced second teamers will hopefully provide a successful formula.
