Crusaders started strongly but failed to produce their pre-Christmas cohesion and a number of chances went begging. Stuart Cameron scored the only try of the half with a jinking run to give Crusaders a half-time lead of 7-0.
It was all change in the second half with Woodbridge severely testing Crusaders' defence. Two quick tries and a penalty, all scored and converted by the impressive centre Josh Kimber, left Crusaders trailing 7-17.
The home side pressed hard for a bonus point but a disallowed try for an infringment summed up their day.
