Norwich City will face Bromley & Beckenham in the last 16 of the England Hockey Cup after winning 3-0 at Waltham Forest on Sunday.

City started brightly and Chris Perry's drag flick cannoned off the crossbar, with Chris Wardale's follow-up falling wide.

The visitors struck twice midway through the first half, first when Jez Elliott crossed for Matt Brine to hammer home at the second attempt. The second was a penalty stroke converted by Chris Perry after Gary Croft was brought down by the home keeper.

City made the game safe in the final 10 minutes when a sweeping move culminated in John Rutterford scoring his maiden first team goal.

They will now travel to East Men's Conference side Bromley on Sunday, November 18.

On Saturday, a depleted City side secured a battling point with a 3-3 draw at Cambridge University II in the East Men's League Premier B Division.

City fell 2-0 behind in the first half, but just before the break, Chris Wardale deflected a short corner into the net to reduce the arrears.

The students restored their two-goal cushion in the second half, but Bob Hammond made it 3-2 and Elliott equalised from a short corner.

Harleston Magpies moved to within a point of St Albans after beating the leaders 1-0 on Saturday, Andy Hipwell getting the only goal of the game.

Dereham suffered their second consecutive defeat in Premier A as they lost 3-2 at home to struggling Ipswich.

Ipswich went ahead midway through the first half, but Dereham pulled level through Matt Plater on the stroke of half-time.

The hosts took control and gained the lead with a fierce strike from Mike Timm. Two minutes from time, Ipswich equalised from a short corner and they then scored the winner in the dying seconds.

Norwich Dragons picked up their first point of the season away from home with a 1-1 draw at City of Peterborough IV in Division 2NE.

Rupert Snelling had an early goal disallowed for Dragons, but they took the lead when Lewis Wilkins crossed for Matt Knights to sweep home.

Peterborough equalised in the second half but a couple of fine saves from keeper Robbie Whiting ensured a point for Dragons.

Norwich City II moved to the top of Division 3NE with a 7-1 mauling of North Walsham, the goals coming from George Anthony (3), Matthew Brine (2), Richard Silvester and Jack Ingham.

Norwich Dragons II remain second in Division 4NE after their 1-0 win at home to Sudbury, Dan Cheesman firing the winner.

Dragons' third team dropped their first points of the season with a 0-0 draw at Bury St Edmunds III in Division 5NE.

Norwich Dragons IV drew 2-2 with Norwich Exiles, Dragons' goals coming from Mike Banham and Dave Thornton.
