East London 10, Beccles 37

Beccles got off to the best possible start to their league campaign with comprehensive win in London.

The breakthrough came in the first half when patient play from the forwards gave the backs space and Wade made the most of his opportunity to score.

Further tries came from Starks, Ling, Sale and Hewitt as Beccles continued to dominate in their first match at the lower level on London 3NE. With the game wrapped up, the visitors scored two consolation tries but the visitors were out of sight by then.

Beccles will be happy with a solid display in which they also earned a bonus point for their efforts.

Notable performances came from Cooper, Starks and B&B Skip Hire man of the match Wade.

Beccles have been strengthened by the signing of overseas recruit Adam Edwards who will be joining the club for the season.
