Early setback to Trophy bid

The indoor EBF Inter County season kicked off with the NCBA Executive team entertaining Northants at Roundwood IBC in the Eversley Trophy.

This has been a tough fixture for Norfolk in recent seasons and Sunday's game showed only a slight improvement in the result. At five ends the Norfolk team led 23-19 but the visitors hit back to lead 41-34. After 15 ends the gap was only eight shots – Northants leading 58-50 – but the next five ends proved decisive as Northants scored 21 shots to Norfolk's eight and went on to win 69-95.

Norfolk look to bounce back when they travel to Hunts on Sunday.

Rink scores: R Bunton, J Hudson and P Randell 27-15. F Haverson, R Greef and R Meeks 9-33. D Cole, J Fruin and A Rowsell 12-30. A Sayer, C Blake and C Woodcock 20-17.
