Horsford made a thrilling start to their NW Brown Norfolk Twenty20 campaign at Manor Park – beating Vauxhall Mallards by just one run.

Luke Findlay led the way with an unbeaten 65 as Horsford scored 142 for six in their 20 overs, with Paul Bradshaw and Mitchell Todd taking two wickets apiece for Mallards.

The Ducks then set about chasing their target and were looking good at 60-1, before opener Todd went for 50 and three further wickets followed for the addition of just six runs.

Ben France and Harry Barker steadied the ship through to 90-5 but wickets continued to fall consistently until mallards were on the cusp of victory, Coonor Green falling for 21 with the score at 141-9.

Adam Todd was then run out by Tom Nudd off the final ball as he scampered for the final runs needed, to see Horsford scrape the narrowest of victories in the group stages.
