Double the joy for Jenny and Brenda in Norfolk Women’s Bowling Association finals
Acle's Jenny Kirby and Norfolk Bowling Club's Brenda Whitehead were both double winners in the Norfolk Women's Bowling Association finals at RG Carter's BC.
Whitehead skipped Anne Read, Jean Edwards and Joyce Webster to a 26-15 victory over Kay Hipperson, Carol Neave, Christine Webb and Jayne Roylance in the final of the rinks, and also triumphed in the two-wood singles.
Kirby claimed the Champion of Champions crown and teamed up with Sheila Stacey to win the unbadged pairs.
Stacey and Kirby also went close in the pairs, losing to Gill Hume and Mary Johnson of Diss in the semi-finals.
The Diss duo went on to win the final in thrilling fashion with a three from their last bowl after going into the last end two shots down to Thetford's Valerie Gibson and Jackie Devitt.
