King's Lynn Town bring the curtain down on what proved to be something of a tumultuous season – with one eye already on the next campaign.

Manager Ian Culverhouse is still picking through the bones of predecessor Gary Setchell's departure and the associated fall-out – as well as a clutch of untimely injuries.

Today the 13th-placed Linnets head to Chesham, who are 10th – effectively a dead rubber game for both teams.

But Culverhouse has plenty on his plate as he prepares for a busy summer building 'his' King's Lynn Town squad.

One of his tasks will be able to work out the future of striker Leon Mettam, a contracted player who is currently on loan at Spalding United. Mettam left The Walks in January after a fall-out with previous boss Gary Setchell.

So is Mettam willing to return?

'We have to have that talk,' said Culverhouse 'If the desire is there from him and he wants to come back – he is under contract so he will be coming back anyway – we will have a good look in pre-season to see where he fits in and hopefully we can sort something either way.

'The door is not closed at all – he is a goalscorer and it stands out like a sore thumb what we need. We just need him to be in the right frame of mind to play for this football club.'

Having seen his team draw 1-1 at home to Frome a week ago, Culverhouse was disappointed with the manner of Monday's 2-0 defeat at St Ives Town, although it perhaps strengthened his views of where Lynn's weak spots are.

'It just shows what we need,' he said. 'There is no getting away from it, there are no grey areas. We have looked at everyone as much as we can. Now it is about sitting down and finding the right people for the right areas and going out and making sure they come into the football club for the right reasons.'

Culverhouse certainly wants a performance from his team to sign off their season.

'We need to show up first of all,' he said. 'We didn't show up against St Ives. It was like an end-of-season stroll in the park and that is not what we are about.'

Culverhouse has injury doubts over Sam Gaughran while Conor Marshall continues to nurse a calf problem.
