Desire and togetherness has produced ‘unbelievable start’, says King’s Lynn Town boss Setchell
Hunger, togetherness and desire are the qualities which helped King's Lynn Town continue their 'unbelievable start' to the season on Saturday, according to Gary Setchell.
The Linnets boss was delighted after he watched his side breeze to their fifth victory on the bounce by beating Romulus 3-0 at the weekend.
Goals from Russell Dunkey, Steve Spriggs and Jason Lee – his first for the club – had Lynn's win wrapped up inside 60 minutes. However, Setchell was more delighted by his charges' attitude than the comfortable nature of their win at The Walks as they held onto second place in Evo-Stik Division One South with another triumph.
The Linnets manager said: 'We continued our trend of working hard, being organised and I thought we passed the ball well too.
'I think desire was the difference (against Romulus). Our players are showing unbelievable desire all over the pitch. We're hunting in fours and fives, we're not hunting in ones and twos – which happened last year and the year before. We're a group.

'We're in it together. There were players falling over each other to go and make tackles. We're 3-0 up at the end and (Dan) Quigley is still running around trying to win every single ball when he probably needs to calm down.'
In even better news, Lynn's victory came in front of their biggest crowd of the season – 709. The off-the-pitch boost came one day after chairman Keith 'Buster' Chapman had issued a public letter in an attempt to halt the club's declining gates.

Setchell admitted he was delighted by the fans' support and insisted he and the club are desperate to prove their doubters wrong as they continue their flying start to life at Step Four of the non-league ladder.
'We're together as a club, from the chairman right down to the players and the supporters,' said Setchell.
'There was 700 or so here which is a great response. Buster and the players are in the trenches with us and we just keep exceeding expectations. We've got 19 points from a possible 24. It's an unbelievable start.
'We were written off before the start of the season. People can say what they want but they wrote us off. We were relegation fodder.
'We were a bunch of Step Five players. I think we've proved a lot of people wrong over the first six weeks of the season – but that's all it is, six weeks, and we've got to do it for another 34 yet.'
The Linnets face arguably their toughest test of the league campaign – which has seen them lose to only Sheffield – when they welcome Coalville Town tomorrow night.
The Ravens are unbeaten in the Evo-Stik League this term, winning 4-0 at Sutton Coldfield at the weekend, and sit six points ahead of Lynn – having played one game more.
