Wet conditions have ensured Dereham Town will not be in Ryman North action this evening.
Heavy overnight rain, that has continued today, forced officials at Aldiss Park to call a pitch inspection as they prepared to welcome the Essex outfit. Unfortunately it was one that failed with the playing surface still deemed to be unplayable hours before kick-off.
A brief statement on Dereham's Twitter feed said: 'Following a pitch inspection, tonight's match against Barkingside has been postponed. New date to be arranged.'
As a result, Matt Henman's side's next chance to strengthen their play-off push will come on Saturday when they visit basement boys Burnham Ramblers.
