Dereham counted the cost of a disappointing second half performance as they went down at home to Bowers & Pitsea.

Danny Beaumont's stunning strike had given them an interval lead but three second half goals gave Bowers victory.

Dereham included new signing from Wroxham Jackson Ramm in their starting line-up. In the eighth minute Beaumont had a 20-yard drive blocked with Rhys Logan unable to hook the loose ball home.

Dereham opened the scoring when Ramm progressed down the left before finding Beaumont inside; the striker beat his man outside the box before blasting a fierce drive into the roof of the net giving keeper Bobby Mason no chance in the 18th minute.

The visiting keeper had to be alert minutes later to prevent Vadim Costandachi's cross from the right entering his net.

The Magpies were playing with confidence and had two penalty appeals both against Ryan Crisp turned down. Logan fired over from distance and Ramm shot into keeper Mason's arms as the home pressure continued.

The visitors should have levelled at the start of the second period when Martyn Stokes could only head Alfie Hinton's deep centre onto Will Viner's bar. However, from their next attack keeper Viner failed to intercept Scott Pethers' cross from the left enabling Luke Wilson to net from close range in the 51st minute.

As Dereham settled Ramm's inviting cross from the left was deflected for a corner. Bowers were soon pressing again with Wilson's snap shot just missing the target. They nearly took the lead in the 64th minute but Viner made a vital save to deny Shamari Barnwell when faced with a one-on-one situation. The Magpies then also missed a good chance as Beaumont fired over the top from close range.

It was the visitors who finally went in front in the 71st minute; Manor gained possession on the right side of the box and found James Thomas who drilled home a low drive into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

Dereham came close minutes later as Hine managed to slice Adam Smith's curling corner off the line.

Dereham were denied what looked a clear penalty when Satain handled Eastoe-Smith's cross shot and the visitors sealed victory late on through Ben Martyn.
