A Norwich City club spokesman has insisted that a 'broadcast media' press conference called for 6pm tonight does not indicate an imminent development surrounding the future of manager Nigel Worthington.
Criticism of Worthington has grown in recent weeks, reaching a crescendo at a public meeting last week and organised protests outside Carrow Road on Saturday.
A leaked notice of an evening press conference set lines buzzing with speculation this afternoon.
But the Canaries press office confirmed that the press call was in order for club majority shareholders Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones to give interviews for local television in which they will respond to recent criticism of the City board.
He added that there would be no major development to report.
Full details of the statements will be carried here as soon as they are made.
