Crusaders soon gained control of the game with two converted tries from Stuart Cameron and Jordan Long following a powerful run by Josh Stuart.
Following a Crusaders' scrum infringement West displayed their most potent ploy, a rolling mall from the lineout, resulting in a try from Sammy Edris converted by Monty Maule. A Tristan Smith penalty rounded off the first half for Crusaders.
Crusaders' forwards tightened their grip in the second half and excellent scrummaging resulted in tries for back row forwards Blinkhorn and George. Prop Henry Joy also bagged a try to please the front row union. Long finished off a three quarter move to score his second and Crusaders' sixth try which Smith converted.
