Crusaders were overrun after a bright start in their final league match of the season.
Two penalties and a conversion from Tristan Smith and a try from Tom Sandland after excellent work from Stewart Cameron gave Crusaders a 13-0 lead but the visitors had closed the gap to three points at the break.
Crusaders increased their lead when George King touched down near the posts for Smith to convert. Mersea's response was immense and they pulled away to win comfortably in the end, running in six tries to complete a deserved double. Smith's penalty was the only reply.
