Crusaders won a crucial match between two sides positioned near the bottom of the ECL Division One table.
Crusaders took an 8-0 half-time lead thanks to a spirited run by their winger Callum Slaughter who jinked his way through the visitors' defence to touch down. Rob Loone missed the conversion but made amends moments later with a penalty.
With minutes to half-time Woodbridge forwards drove over the Crusaders' line but were held up by a determined defence.
Woodbridge worked hard to get back in the game and pinned Crusaders in their own half for long periods but had only a penalty to show for their efforts. With neither side producing any fluent attacking rugby following the long Christmas break it was a penalty try which sealed the match for Crusaders.
