Cromer take advantage as weather hits league
Only 19 games out of the 51 scheduled over six divisions survived the weekend rains, but Cromer used one of them to improve their position at the top of the Premier Division.
They won the north Norfolk derby at Sheringham 2-0 with strikes from Craig Terrington and David Hinton.
That boosted their points tally to 46 from 19 games of a 30-match programme and extended their lead over Wroxham Reserves, who have 35 points but have played 21 games. Also on 35 points, from 18 games, are Mattishall.
Defending champions Blofield, although they have four games in hand over Cromer, now have 18 fewer points than the Sterry Cup pace-setters.
In the only other game in the top division, second-bottom Dersingham Rovers won 3-1 at home to a Brandon side now anchored to the bottom.
Rovers' goals came fron Ben Walker (2) and Thomas Nicol, with Roy Bland replying for Brandon.
In Division One, Wymondham closed the gap on leaders Wells, but only by a point as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by second-bottom Corton. David Ramsbottom scored for Wymondham, Ritchi High for Corton.
