EAST WOMEN'S LEAGUE: Harleston Magpies II secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against Ipswich III in Division 1N.

An early short corner goal from Holly Baker put Magpies in front and Catherine Cranmer produced a skilful burst to double the advantage.

Ipswich piled on the pressure in the second half but were restricted to just one goal, before Magpies spurned several chances to seal the victory late on.

Norwich Dragons bounced back from two successive defeats to crush Cambridge City II 5-0.

Hannah Hardy put Dragons in front and Laura Shreeve added a second with a deflected shot, before beating the keeper in a one-on-one to make it 3-0. Player of the match Claire Baker notched the fourth and Marie James completed the scoring.

Norwich Dragons II proved too strong for North Walsham in a 4-2 success.

Hariette Stone slotted Dragons ahead and a fine strike from Ally Windsor-Waite doubled the lead. Lizzie Moulton added a third before half-time as Dragons continued to dominate.

The second half was more even and Walsham pulled a goal back through Ellen Vanlint, before Moulton fired in her second. As both teams tired, Walsham grabbed a second through Hannah Catley's stunning strike, but it was too late to threaten Dragons' lead.

Norwich City cruised past Haverhill 4-0 in Division 2N.

Esme Barber gave City a first half lead before a dominant second period display saw further goals from Debbie Bryant, Fongy Chung and Catherine Cooke.

Loddon recovered from a two-goal deficit to beat UEA 3-2.

UEA were 2-0 up after 25 minutes but just before half-time Elizabeth Skinner netted a fine individual goal for Loddon.

Skinner equalised after the break and a spectacular chip from Kate Konciensky sealed the points late on.

Sprowston were 3-0 winners against Christchurch.

Amy Butler tapped in to give Sprowston the lead and although Christchurch responded with some swift counter-attacks, Carolyn Fiddes gave Sprowston some breathing space as she converted from a short corner.

Sprowston dominated the second half and Kerry Hamilton extended the lead.

North Walsham II beat Pelicans III 7-0 in a friendly, with goals from Denise Wait, Carla Hall, Chelsea Dyke, Abi Warner and Lizzie Cheesman (3).

Broadland II won 4-2 at Sprowston II in a friendly, with Martina Rothe and Danni Parke each scoring twice for Broadland, while Kerry Hamilton and Louise Bracey were on target for Sprowston.

In the national Women's Trophy, Watton were beaten 6-1 at Bolton and Norwich City conceded their match against Bishop's Stortford. There was success for Wisbech, however, as they moved into the third round with an 8-1 demolition of St Ives.
