Former Reepham High School student Lake, from Hainford, was competing in her first Commonwealth Games and will be satisfied that her pre-race expectation was achieved.
“I am fit and I’m getting fitter – my aim is to come in the top eight,” she had said.
Baker, from Dereham, jumped 2.21 in the high jump, which was won by Australian Brandon Starc with a jump of 2.32.
