West Norfolk's promotion bid suffered a setback on Saturday when they were beaten by third placed Cantabrigian.

Everything looked set fair for the visitors at half-time after they had played well to move into a 9-0 lead, courtesy of three Ed Maule penalties.

But Cantabs hit back soon after the restart with a converted try and then took a narrow lead with a score in the corner which was not converted.

West were still very much in it at that stage but the home side soon moved further in front with a penalty and were then able to see out the match.

With Stowmarket winning again, and Holt also coming up on the rails, West know they can ill afford any more slip-ups if they are going to go up, starting on Saturday when they travel to a Stowmarket side who are now four points ahead of them.
