Norwich City Ladies need just one point from their last fixture to secure second place in the SE Combination League.

They will achieve this if they get at least a draw on Sunday with champions Gillingham - whom they recently beat in the League Trophy final.

Joint manager Emma Fletcher said: 'We have a great opportunity to clinch our highest-ever position in this league on Sunday, and we would love to see a big crowd cheering us on.

'When we had 45 spectators travel to our cup final last week it really helped spur the team on and I think with a good gate on Sunday it could help us again.'

Entry on Sunday at Plantation Park, Blofield, is 2.50 for adults and 1.50 for U16s.

Norwich City Girls' Centre of Excellence players and Norwich City Girls players, on production of a ticket, will have free entry to the game.

There will be a barbecue and bar during and after the game, which kicks off at 2pm.

City are currently third on goal difference after beating Northampton 4-0 at the weekend with two goals by Nicola Bray and one apiece from Jodie Drake and Hayley Peverley.

Fletcher said after Sunday's game: 'It was important that the Ladies didn't enter today's game thinking that they just had to turn up, especially after their fantastic performance last week against Gillingham.

'Northampton have had one or two really decent results of late and they were going to enjoy their last game of the season, especially playing on such a lovely surface up at Colney.

'We started really strongly and we couldn't have asked for anything more, with the first goal coming in the first 20 seconds.

'If we have to be picky we should have scored more but you can't take anything away from the Ladies as a win was more important.'
