Brooke gave the 2011 NW Brown Financial Services Norfolk Twenty20 Cup campaign a flying start by pulling off a remarkable run chase to beat Fakenham by seven wickets at Horsford.
Fakenham set a stiff target by making 177 for four from their 20 overs, James Brown leading the way with 54 and solid support coming from Stephen Gray (41) and James (44 not out).
But Brooke reached it with 3.4 overs to spare after openers Ed Sturman (39) and Joe Oakey (31) had set the pace – Rob Panter (52 not out) and Richard Timm (43) completing the good work.
The tournament continues tonight at Horsford when Acle face Norwich.
