There will be a Norwich City connection at the London Olympics Handball Arena this summer, after Team GB unveiled its first ever squad to compete in the sport.

Norwegian-born 29-year-old Britt Goodwin, one of 14 selected handball players, is the daughter of former Canaries forward Steve Goodwin, who most notably scored twice against Sheffield United to help Norwich to the 1975 League Cup final.

Goodwin and wife Norma have lived in the Norwegian town of Gjvik, in Oppland, for more than 30 years where Britt was born and brought up – although she qualifies for Team GB thanks to her parents.

The London Olympics will be the first time Britain has entered a team into the handball competition, which first featured at the Berlin Games in 1936.
