There are four new names on the list of Norfolk county champions after Anne Baker, Jackie Fortescue, Keith Cooke and Josh Baxter of Bradwell lifted the Norfolk mixed fours title at Lakeside Country Club.

In the final they took on Jenny Walker of Thorpe Marriott, Donna and David Lamb of Halvergate and Wymondham's Chris Mann.

The first five ends were tight with only one shot scored on each end but the Bradwell rink scored four of them to lead 4-1.

On the penultimate end the Bradwell rink saw all their good work undone as Mann's rink took four shots to level the game with one end remaining.

Another tight end followed but it was the Bradwell rink that scored a single shot to win by 5-4.

In the play-off for third place Pauline Wilson of Yaxham, Marjorie Hall of Felthorpe, Mark Linsdell of Wymondham and Selwyn Goldsmith of Kirby Bedon faced Maureen Munford, Elaine Oatway, George Munford and Bob Oatway of First Bus.

Bob Oatway's rink drew first blood with a single on the first end but after three ends Selwyn Goldsmith's rink led 4-1.

Three shots for the First Bus rink levelled the game on the fourth end but Goldsmith's rink went on to win after a tight last end went their way.

In the semi-finals the Bradwell rink had beaten Goldsmith's rink by 7-6 while Mann's rink had beaten Oatway's rink 7-3.

On Sunday Norfolk face a tough double-header away to Essex Premier and Essex A.

Norfolk Premier will be keen to avenge the mauling they took at the hands of Essex Premier at Lakeside last week.

Norfolk A will be looking to complete a double after their hard-earned home win.
