The all-rounder has been left stranded in Spain after flights were grounded due to the volcanic smog which has paralysed many European airports following the eruption of Mount Eyjafjalljokull. He misses tomorrow's trip to Bishop's Stortford to play Essex Second XI and Sunday's match against MCC Young Cricketers at High Wycombe.

He is replaced by Horsford's Luke Caswell for both 50-over matches, which start at 11am. Great Witchingham batsman Tom Collishaw will make his first appearance for Norfolk, while Norwich youngster Harry Bush. gets a chance to impress after making his county debut towards the end of last summer.

Sam Arthurton is in the Norfolk side and is likely to be up against some of his colleagues from the Essex Academy for tomorrow's match. Norfolk's first competitive fixture is the following Sunday, April 25, when they begin the defence of their MCCA Knockout Trophy crown with a home match against Lincolnshire.
