Beccles stay strong for cup encounter

Beccles are set to field a strong side as they take a break from league action to entertain St Albans in the EDF cup competition.

While changes this week will be limited, it does give Beccles the chance to look at some new additions to the squad. There will be a first start for second row Adam Cornelius after recently moving into the area. Cornelius will bring an abrasive and dynamic edge to the position along with his speed which the team will look to utilise.

Joining him in the pack will be flyer Gavin Hewitt on the flank. Outside the pack two further changes will be made, at fly-half and on the wing. Murray who impressed with two tries for the second XV last week, will start at fly-half with Davey-Durak starting on the wing. Davey-Durak has been a consistent and outstanding performer for the second XV over recent seasons so the teenager will look to take the chance given to him this week.

Beccles (from): Porter, Lake, Ling, Cornelius, Johnstone, Hewitt, Rix, R Wilson, Sale, Murray, Davey-Durak, Wade, Calver, Gedney, Rayner, P Wilson, Payne, Hinsley.
