LONDON 2NE: Beccles will take heart from an improved display against Romford last weekend when they face another of the division's title challengers, Rochford Hundred, tomorrow.

It is the third successive game against a top three side for Beccles, but they have crucial matches against the two teams above them at the bottom, Old Streetonians and Harlow, to follow.

Having played Rochford twice already this season in both the league and cup competition, Beccles know this will be a tough fixture against a side that looks set to bounce straight back up to London 1 at the first attempt.

Skipper Shaun Lake and the coaching team will look to use the game to test one or two players who have been star performers in the rampaging second XV.

Pitts will continue in the front row this week after a fine return to action last week against the huge front row of Romford. In the second row Holmes will make his first start as Lake looks to inject some youth and pace to the pack.

Outside the backs, Gidney makes up the centre partnership with Payne and out wide Sam Long looks set to make his first league start for the first XV.

Long is top try scorer for the second XV. His natural pace and regular try scoring achievements at local level will be given a tougher test this week, but the coaching staff feel that the 18-year-old has what it takes to make a mark and become a regular on the team-sheet.
