Having had discussions back in September about whether or not the team would have enough players to continue, Beccles Hockey Club were pleased to be playing their final league game with 11 players.
However playing second placed UEA who have scored more goals than any other team was never going to be an easy task.
Beccles started strongly, winning a short corner early to show that they would not be going down by over 10 goals as other teams had done.
The first half finished 2-0 to UEA and after the break they came out looking for the big win and with extra subs to call upon, they capitalised with some lucky goals.
But despite a 5-0 defeat, Beccles finish sixth and are looking forward to next season. From all the players, a big thank you must go to Barry Mann for his excellent umpiring every week.
