King's Lynn Golf Club ladies competed for the much coveted Grannies' Trophy on one of the most blustery days of the year.

A total of 54 ladies took part in the annual competition, which was excellent considering the conditions, with a triumphant Barbara Worlledge winning overall with 39 points, This was the first time Barbara had won the trophy and she was delighted with her success. Second was Judy Curtis with 36 points, followed by Sue Gurr, ladies' captain with 35 and Irene Flynn with 34.

Each year this Trophy is awarded by Past Ladies' Captain, Audrey Jones, who with a close friend of hers first presented the Trophy back in 1978 on the birth of their first grandchilden.

Unfortunately due to ill health, and for the first time in 33 years, Mrs Jones was unable to attend to do the presentation and Dot Eagles, Ladies' President, agreed to present the Trophy on her behalf. All the ladies wished Audrey a speedy recovery and hoped to see her at the annual Grannies' competition next year.
