Arts go out but Norfolk chase semis
County Arts narrowly missed out on a place in the last eight of the Denny Cup after they lost to holders City of Ely 76-75.
However, in the Denny Plate, Norfolk BC progressed into the quarter-finals after they beat Welford-on-Avon 85-64.
They will now play Swale for a place in the semi-finals on Saturday, January 21.
In the Norfolk CIBA County Bowls League, Acle A take an 11-point lead into the Christmas break after they won at Diss A, by 91 shots to 64. Rob Parker's rink top-scored for them, 30-16. Gallow A beat Wymondham A in a close match by 79 shots to 77, Danny Pages rink winning 24-15.
In the top-of-the-table clash in Division Two, Pinewood Park A beat Pentney A by 75 shots to 71, with the rink skipped by Richard Joplin for Pentney top-scoring 23-10. Acle B move dinto second place after beating Browston A at home by 102 shots to 53, with Barney Wymer's rink winning 24-9.
Hunstanton moved into fourth place after they beat Lakeside B at home by 96 shots to 57, Roy Ebbs' rink winning 28-14, to leave the top four teams separated by just five points.
Division Three has new leaders after Norfolk B beat Shotford A at home by 90 shots to 56, Kenny Read's rink winning 29-8, to help end Shotford's unbeaten record.

Acle C are third after they won away at Wymondham B by 76 shots to 71, Brian Grint's rink winning 22-12. The only game in Division Four saw Great Yarmouth A beat Pentney B at home by 98 shots to 51, the home rink skipped by P Clutterbuck top-scoring 31-8.
