Lowestoft Town will be aiming to get their Ryman League Premier Division campaign back on track this afternoon when they make the journey across Suffolk to take on AFC Sudbury.

Bank Holiday derby matches are always occasions to be savoured but this one has an extra touch of spice, with the hosts being managed by former Blues favourite Jamie Godbold, a man who made over 500 appearances for the club. Lowestoft boss Ady Gallagher has huge respect for his opposite number – but insists it will be business as usual once the game gets under way at 3pm.

'Obviously I know Jamie really well, he's a top lad and was also a tremendous servant to Lowestoft Town Football Club,' said Gallagher. 'He has also done an excellent job at Sudbury, getting them promoted as champions last season while playing some excellent football.

'It will be nice to meet up with him again – but the only thing I will be focussed on on Monday is picking up the three points – and I am sure Jamie will be the same.'

While Lowestoft will be aiming to get Saturday's 4-2 reverse at Harrow Borough out of their systems Sudbury will also have a point to prove this afternoon.

They were beaten 2-1 at Needham Market on Boxing Day and followed that up with a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to bottom side Canvey Island. They currently lie 16th in the table, eight point behind the Blues with three games in hand.
