If Cameron Braan has started as he means to go on - then his Norfolk League Division Five opponents had better watch out.

Old Buckenham all-rounder Braan produced the fireworks on day one of the Lucas Fettes Norfolk League season with a whirlwind century and a key bowling performance in the battle of the Buckenhams.

He hammered 10 sixes on his way to 113, dominating a 182 total. New Buckenham fell 44 runs short - Braans taking 4-13.

In Division Two league secretary Tim Porter proved that he can perform good work on the pitch as well as behind the scenes, scoring 76 for Bungay A.

Stuart Smith (68) and Tony Chang (54 not out) were the other key contributors in a 255-4 total, which proved 111 runs too many for Great Melton B.

Hales A only notched up two Division Four victories last season - but they have one on the board aleady this term thanks to a half century from veteran left-hander Matthew Plummer, and youths Josh Kingsley and Chris Read who shared six wickets as Winterton A fell 56 runs short of the Hales 145 total. Jeremy Cocks took 5 for 23 as Aylsham dismissed Overstrand for 93 on their way to winning a low-scoring Division Two affair by seven wickets.
