Sailors at Buckenham Sailing Club enjoyed two races on Sunday morning, sailing in a gentle breeze and sunshine. In the first race, Simon Cullum in Javelin Javanna led the fleet from a flying start and held his position on the water and on corrected time. Jim Frost in his Phantom was not too far behind. There was close racing amongst the other boats and Janet Gilmour in Leader Winsmour, crewed by Jane Winslade, managed to slip through against the tide to finish third and keep her place on corrected time.

In Race Two a quirky windshift headed Simon as he approached the first mark of the course and allowed the two phantoms, sailed by Jim Frost and Chris Skedge to make up enough ground to take first and second on corrected time although Javanna had crossed the line ahead of the fleet.

After lunch the wind dropped and only three of the competing boats managed to make enough way over the ebbing tide to finish the race, the reminder paddled back to the Club house.
