Adam Lakeland will demand a reaction from his players when they return to The Walks on Tuesday night.
The Linnets were imperious in their 3-1 National League North opener at home to Warrington, but came down to earth with a bang on Saturday when they were well beaten 3-0 at Alfreton Town.
Lynn have Jonny Margetts back to face Rushall Olympic after he missed the first two games of the season through suspension, although Bart Cybulski missed the weekend game with a knock.
There’s unlikely to be a knee-jerk reaction in the shape of wholesale changes from Linnets boss Lakeland.
“Potentially – I could make wholesale changes after that today, but I think it's important that we don't get too down and despondent,” he said. “I know the team that I've been watching for weeks and weeks and what I've been seeing day-to-day and that wasn't it today, for whatever reason.
“We need to look at why that was, but obviously having Jonny back in and available for selection is a real bonus for us because we didn't really get anything going at the top end of the pitch today.
"I thought their centre-halves had the beating of Gold (Omotayo) more often than not. But having Jonny – it’s not just having a goal scorer, it's more experience and having another leader on the pitch. Whether he'll start the game I’m not sure, but we'll let today settle first and get ready for Tuesday tomorrow.”
Lakeland is known for his detailed preparation work and by the time Lynn kick off against Rushall, he will have gone through every minute of the Alfreton game.
“Of course we have got to forget it, but we need to analyse it as well,” he said. “We do that with every game, we watch them back, we try and take lessons from game to game, both good and bad.
“But there were large aspects of that that I will be disappointed with today - and the players will be as well. But we have a good honest group of lads in there and I'm sure they'll be very determined to bounce back Tuesday night.”
