Thanks to Rachel Moore for her article about Great Yarmouth.

I lived in Great Yarmouth during the 60s and 70s and returned here two years ago. I loved it then and I love it now. It is a working port with a fascinating history and iconic British culture that sadly has been disappearing in much of the rest of the country, including the seafront, water gardens, iron bridge, farmer's market, circus, Lydia Eva, greyhound stadium, medieval town wall to name but a few.

Our micro climate gives us some of the best weather in the country and the town is well-kept with pretty rows of colourful terraced houses.

Like you I wish more locals would get with the programme — they seem to have forgotten what wonderful things they have on their doorstep.
