The Pennoyer Centre in Pulham St Mary will be staging its first beer festival next week in a joint venture with the Friends of Pulham Primary School.

A hand-picked selection of ales covering a range of styles and strengths will be on offer from 2pm on Friday, December 2 and between 11am and 10pm next Saturday. Entrance is free.

The festival will feature ales mostly from craft breweries in the region. There are new versions of almost-forgotten products such as mild and representatives of citrus style bitters pioneered by micro brewers as well as the more traditional full bodied beers.

Hot food will also be available in Pennoyer's Caf.

Festival organiser Saxon Jones said: 'We believe there is something here to interest casual drinkers and real ale enthusiasts alike. This is an opportunity to sample a range of great products that are often not widely available.' For more information, visit www.pennoyers.org.uk
