Get into the London 2012 spirit with an Olympics-themed singing workshop for children at Diss Corn Hall on Saturday, June 30, 10am-12.30pm.
The workshop – for ages 6-16 – is being led by John Weeks who has been an English and drama teacher for 30 years. Since retiring as head of Thetford Grammar School, he has led singing groups for Thetford Music Project and is administrator of Thetford Voices, which has run a programme of singing workshops in schools and during holidays for the last six years.
As the workshop is Olympics-themed, it will end in a performance about the first Olympics incorporating the songs learned during the workshop and some movement.
The workshop has been funded by Norfolk's Year of Celebration fund, set up to support sports and cultural events taking place in communities across the county to celebrate 2012.
