Norwich United gave their battle against relegation a massive boost as they recorded an emphatic away win at Canvey Island.
Adam Hipperson led the way with a hat-trick in a victory that lifted the Planters off the bottom of the table in a season when just one team will be going down.
Nathan Stewart converted Hipperson's cross on 16 minutes and it was soon 2-0 as Hipperson opened his account for the evening.
George Craddock quickly pulled one back for Canvey with a deflected shot but Hipperson struck twice more either side of the interval to make it 4-1.
The good news for United continued after the final whistle when they learnt rivals Romford had been beaten 1-0 at Witham. That left the Essex side two points adrift at the bottom, with an inferior goal difference, with just three games left to play.
