Nestled next to the river on the historic saint George Street, the Playhouse has been thrilling audiences who come for its excellent programme of comedy, music and drama, but also it's bar. The Playhouse Bar has come into it's own in the past few years and has become one of the city's most vibrant social hot spots. With a bustling kaleidoscope of art and music the bars vibrant décor and eclectic appearance is home to a mix of art students, theatre goers and music fans alike who turn up for the veritable smorgasbord of musical genres played by the many regular deejays in the bar. Serving a host of continental lagers, fine ciders, and delectable spirits, the Playhouse Bar also prides itself on its small, but well kept selection of local ales and is delighted to be part of this years city of ale. During which will be more than doubling its number of ales on offer with the inclusion of an outside bar on its (hopefully) sun bathed terrace.
