Where is Gisleham?
Gisleham is surrounded on three sides Pakefield to the east separates the village from the sea, while Lowestoft and Carlton Colville occupy its north border and Kessingland is the next village south.

About Gisleham
While its centre is a small cluster of houses, bright lights and excitement are on the fringes of the community. Gisleham is pronounced with a hard G, Gizz-lum rather than Guys-lum or Gizzel-ham.

The church, Holy Trinity, has a late Saxon/early Norman round base topped with a 15th century octagonal brick crown.

Inside are two wall paintings set by windows in the north wall, although there is some disagreement about what they represent one theory is that they are part of a series of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary.

And on a royal note, Gisleham Industries, at South Lowestoft industrial estate, built the ceremonial torch used by The Queen as part of the UKs millennium celebrations.

Gisleham is within easy reach of large areas of North Suffolk. Pakefield offers bracing walks along the clifftop; Lowestoft offers glorious beaches and more bracing walks.

And Kessingland has, among other things, the impressive Suffolk Wildlife Park, run by the same firm as Banham Zoo.
