Today nine college and school pupils began their work as Members of Youth Parliament (MYP).
Mid-Norfolk MYP is Ross Perkins, 17, from Dereham Sixth Form College.
Manifesto: 'I would love to make a massive difference to the lives of all young people in Norfolk. Our voices are sometimes not heard or taken seriously and I feel passionately about the representation of our youth. We need to encourage not only adults to hear us out, but I feel that we need to encourage more young people to take, if only a slight, interest in current affairs. In building a bridge between the more serious adult issues and naivety of the youth through social networking, for example, we can start to exchange views more effectively in the future.'
