Singers from across Norfolk will have the chance to audition for hit ITV show The Voice in Norwich next month.

A team from the talent contest will be heading to Access To Music college on Magdalen Street on Tuesday, April 4 when students, alumni and a select number of others will be able to step into the spotlight.

Those wishing to take part will be able to book an audition slot by contacting the college.

Created by John de Mol, The Voice UK features four celebrity coaches searching for a superstar, who judge purely on vocal ability.

Current coaches include Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson, Will.i.am and Gavin Rossdale.

Dan Foden, Delivery and Performance Manager for Access to Music, said: 'ITV approached us to host the auditions, as we have a variety of Music Performance, Artist Development and Vocal Artist courses they feel it's an ideal place to talent scout.

'They want to see out students primarily, as we have had several acts who have gone forward in the process to the show, but there will also be assigned slots for a few members of the public.'

'With recent successful acts in Mullally and Let's Eat Grandma who are currently at South By South West in Texas there is some good focus on Access To Music Norwich at the moment.'
